“Can We Still Be Friends?” is a spectacle that is not only entertaining, but also invites the audience to reflect on the inner questions of the two main characters. Is it necessary to seek perfection in love? Or feel like 'I don't deserve him. He deserves better.' In fact, the film answers all of that with a snippet at the end of a long line from his same-sex best friend Sam, “I realize that demanding perfection from love is stupid. Or from myself. I have accepted that there will always be something lacking in those who love. The question is, whose flaws are you willing to accept?”
I realized that Diego and Sam felt pretty stupid with their game. Only, somewhat agree with Sam. Yes, basically no one is perfect. But if we want to achieve perfection, actually there is nothing wrong with it, as long as we want to try. What do you think?
