The film was directed by Chito S. Roño and under the production of Star Cinema.

This film marks Kim and Matteo's reunion after their TV series My Binondo Girl which premiered on ABS-CBN in 2011 and also as their first film project together. This will also be Kim's third film with director Chito S. Roño. The film opens in theaters on November 1, 2017, which coincides with All Saints' Day.

This film tells the story of a girl when she is offered wealth for her loved ones in exchange for a spiritual ritual.

During Ghost Month in Binondo, Mayen Lim (Kim Chiu) is the middle daughter of a cash-strapped family struggling to keep up with their financial hardships. The family, who wrote Chinese opera plays at the local temple, consisted of his parents Manuel (Robert Seña) and Dolores (Ina Raymundo), his cousin Matt (Jerome Ponce), and his aunt; Jana (Kakai Bautista) and schizophrenic Akoh (Beverly Salviejo). He is dating Clinton Yu (Matteo Guidicelli), an architect from a controlling middle-class family who will migrate to Cebu to attend his brother's coworker's wedding.

 They say that Love is sweeter the second time around. For some, yes, we may consider that thought based on the reasons behind it. But for me, one is enough and two is too much. No matter how small or big it is, once you broke a person’s trust, all the truths will now be questionable.

Seeing this film “This Time I’ll Be Sweeter” directed by Joel Lamangan under Regal Multimedia Incorporated starring Ken Chan as Tristan Luna and Barbie Forteza as Erika Gallardo was such an inspiring yet hugotfilm because not all people considers giving second chances. It makes them think standing in that position whether or not to give them a second chance in to what they did. It also makes some think that they’re stupid enough to give what isn’t right to the person whom had hurt them most. On the other hand, inspiring ‘coz even though things may be rough, in the end there’s always a room for improvement and the chance to attest that things could be better even after we fall. Always remember that second chances are not given to make things right. But to sum it all up, this film has a good and awesome storyline.
