FanGirl FanBoy (2017)
¨“Movie Synopsis¨“
The story of a wannabe actor and a talented teleserye dubber who agrees to help him improve his acting. Her coaching helps him achieve his dream of becoming a star only to find herself heartbroken when he becomes successful.
Special Movies: Ella Cruz, Julian Trono, Donnalyn Bartolome, Kim Molina, Ronnie Liang, Shy Carlos
Country : Philippines
Genre : Comedy, Romance
Production Co : Viva Films, N² Productions
Ollie Fernandez (Julian Trono) is a one-hit heartthrob who is trying to redeem himself by joining a celebrity search for a Filipino adaptation of a Korean series. There he meets Aimee (Ella Cruz), a talented dubber that voices his crush Soo Mi Young (Yam Concepcion) in the Koreanovela "Program For Love." What Ollie didn't know is that Aimee is already an avid fan since the beginning of his career and vows to help Ollie to achieve his goals and fulfill his dreams to be a star.
Honestly, I really didn't think that I would like the film. We came in with limited expectation and tried to relax while waiting for the start of the film. When it started rolling, we were amazed how Fangirl, Fanboy turned out pretty entertaining right from the very beginning. It has a genuine vibe that can easily get the viewer's attention. Probably because of the oozing chemistry between the two lead stars.
Ella Cruz and Julian Trono acted naturally as if they were just enjoying their bonding together. From their viral dance videos, the two leveled-up and proved that they could also act well and star in their own motion picture. Ella Cruz provided the wittiness that the character needs and sold us that she is really an ultimate fan girl who will do anything for his idol. She acted well and has that charisma to pull of everything even the material has some lapses at times. Julian Trono was impressive throughout. He has that appealing charm that made the crowd go wild whenever he appears on the screen. He made sure that people can also recognize him not only in dancing but also in acting.
As for the story, it is quite simple yet it is enjoyable at all cost. The "kilig" are at its best coming from the slow motion scenes, cheesy lines and up to the part that made the crowd go wild with screams erupting inside the cinema. There are just some few important key points, especially at the conflict part that needs more stability to hold everything up.
Overall, Fangirl, Fanboy doesn't try too much but still came up with a satisfying romantic-comedy that made us an instant fan of this adorable love team. It is ably acted as Ella Cruz and Julian Trono exhibit a palpable chemistry that makes everything feel so sincere. Hopefully, this is their launching pad for more projects in the future as we are indeed excited to see more from these two future superstars.

Shine (Maymay Entrata), is a high-spirited girl who will do anything for the sake of her family. When his nephew got sick, Shine is forced to join a group of pickpockets to earn some quick cash for the hospital bills. One of his victims is Luke (Edward Barber), a balikbayan who is forced to live with her estranged mother (Carmi Martin). Shine didn't know that Luke is staying next door and some various situations will give them the chance to know each other.
Another new love team is brought to the big screen to face the test if they could run their own show. I've been a fan of Mayward since their PBB days, and actually I was excited when the news came up that they will headline their own film. However, the big question is - are they both ready to deliver to the fans who are excited to see Loving in Tandem?
Loving in Tandem has the charm and entertainment factor of the usual romantic comedy formula. It had some good laughs, charismatic cast and a lot of genuine "kilig moments" mostly coming from the lead stars. The thing is, Loving in Tandem has a baffling material which has a lot of problems revolving around the story. It should been better if it just took a simpler route to make it more intact.
The good thing is that the cast answers to the call and made the film energetic and less problematic at times. They managed to provide the energy it needed to keep it afloat throughout the entire film. Maymay Entrata improved a lot since her last acting task at the PBB house and really stepped up to play his A-game. You can really feel the authenticity of her acting as you see into her eyes that what she does on camera is all natural part of her personality. Edward Barbers is your typical boy next door type of guy. He is great playing as Luke and really handled his role well but needs to learn Tagalog in the long run. The supporting casts were terrific, especially Ryan Bang who managed to be the effective comedic relief throughout. The pair of Kisses Delavin and Marco Gallo are also a great addition but didn't have enough time.
Overall, Loving in Tandem is an enjoyable film and even with a thin material; the cast managed to make the film lively as possible. Both Mayward and Kissmarc can be a successful love team but needed a better material for them to showcase more of their talent.

Erika and Tristan fell in love in their youth. Erika was heartbroken when she first met Tristan. When they meet For the second time, is Erika willing to risk her heart again? will she decide to open her heart again and give love a second chance?
Special Movies: Barbie Forteza, Ken Chan, Akihiro Sato, Ara Mina, Neil Ryan Sese, Kim Rodriguez
Country : Philippines
Genre : Comedy, Romance
Production Co : Regal Entertainment
They say that Love is sweeter the second time around. For some, yes, we may consider that thought based on the reasons behind it. But for me, one is enough and two is too much. No matter how small or big it is, once you broke a person’s trust, all the truths will now be questionable.
Seeing this film “This Time I’ll Be Sweeter” directed by Joel Lamangan under Regal Multimedia Incorporated starring Ken Chan as Tristan Luna and Barbie Forteza as Erika Gallardo was such an inspiring yet hugotfilm because not all people considers giving second chances. It makes them think standing in that position whether or not to give them a second chance in to what they did. It also makes some think that they’re stupid enough to give what isn’t right to the person whom had hurt them most. On the other hand, inspiring ‘coz even though things may be rough, in the end there’s always a room for improvement and the chance to attest that things could be better even after we fall. Always remember that second chances are not given to make things right. But to sum it all up, this film has a good and awesome storyline.
